And I am one of them they are a sin. My parents had a cadillac with a landau top they hated it too but its a story why they bought it. The top started to age and come off the car the worse thing is the fake snaps to make it look like a convertible were drilled into the metal roof of the car!! to rivet it on.

Anyways...

but a muscle car with a vinyl top it the dopeness especially a very rare houndstooth top on a cougar! So wild! read about it here !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

For this car, one might as well go to plaid (or houndstooth, as the case may be) and get a full suit, with matching dress for the wife or SO.

Vinyl tops are cool and cleaner looking than landau tops, on the flip side water gets underneath and you have a convertible free of charge.

I wish I had a picture, but last year some Chinese international student at my university had the most ridiculous car. It was a new lincoln (2012 or newer) with a custom vinyl top. The car was red, the top was tan and it looked.....actually not that bad. Just out of time.

I can't stand carriage roofs - the kind made of fabric with the fake bows and everything, but vinyl roofs can look pretty good, especially on cars that were originally designed for them. Fabric roofs also tend to look like total crap after about 10 years, while vinyl tends to hold up a bit better (might get 15 years).

I love that houndstooth roof. I don't like it, I don't think it's okay, I LOVE it.

Me too it really works especially with the paint and interior colors.

I abhor those fake tops but also vinyl sucks if you are concerned about rust but with everyone trying to make their 1969 camaro look like Z28SSZ06GTO I want one that looks plain with poverty caps and a vinyl roof is just part of it I really like the vinyl roof look.

I was dissing houndstooth. Herringbone is my preferred baller-mode fabric.
